I'm just your not-so-typical southern girl. I've been reading since the age of around 6 and it was my escape away from reality. I had a pretty rough childhood and things usually ended up going terribly wrong. So, I turned to reading. I read countless numbers of books. Whenever you would see me, I was usually with a book, pretending I was off in a different land.
Up until the age of around 13, I read. Then I turned to music. And boy, was it a drastic change! I still read every once in awhile but music was where my heart was. My first true favorite band was H.I.M. I have no shame in admitting that, but looking back, that type of music was not very good for me.
In April of 2009 I was sent to a mental health hospital in upstate Georgia where I was diagnosed ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and BiPolar disorder. I was there a week and have since been on different medications to help balance whatever is wrong with my brain.
It is a never-ending struggle but reading and music have helped to alleviate some of the pain. They are things I can submerge myself in and are true life savers.
This blog was started so that I could share my love for reading and music with others, and also as a place to take my mind off of the struggles of everyday life. I hope you can enjoy the wonders that these things place upon my life because I'm sure they can do the same for you!
Now for the gist of my existance!
